Godric the Kingslayer by ceruleanvii Godric the Kingslayer by ceruleanvii
A version of a book cover I did for the 2nd book in Jayden Wood's Sons of Mercia series, "Godric the Kingslayer".

"Godric is the bastard son of one of the greatest traitors in England's history, Eadric Streona. Outcast and orphaned at a young age, Godric finds protection in the arms of a Jomsviking named Thorkell the Tall. Godric trains among the Vikings and watches as his father's killer, Canute the Great, gains power beyond England and the Baltic Seas. Keeping his true identity a secret, Godric reenters the royal court and attempts to gain King Canute's trust. He serves his greatest enemy so that he may understand why his father died and avenge him to the fullest. But will King Canute's death be enough to fulfill him?"

You can find more info about the books here:

I think he should have more expression in his face, but it's hardly anything big seeing as how you have done such beautiful work on the colors and look of the texture. His hair looks amazing with the different colors in it. But the foggy background is what makes him stand out and I love it. Great job!

You are one of the people who inspired me to try painting digitally. I saw your work a few years ago on a random browse and remembered "Secret Jedi." It impressed me so much that it stuck with me literally for years. I came back to look for you and found your art again. I then noticed that you paint with PS C2, which gave me hope. I saw such amazing work done with a program which many people would scoff as outdated compared to the most recent release. Your results speak for themselves. A pencil is just a pencil if you're filling out a grocery list or jotting down a phone number. In the hands of an artist, however, it becomes a thing of wonder. The same can be said about C2 and your art. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Thanks so much for the comments! I'm so glad to have inspired someone to take up digital painting - it's been a love of mine for a long time and I love to share what I know.
