Handling of color and light! That's possibly the main thing that draws me to your work (aside from your grasp and portrayal of anatomy) and when done properly can really set the mood of the whole piece. I always love how pure your images look, and the lighting choices you make are responsible for that. I also like it because it's probably the one thing I really can't do at all myself. I have very little grasp of how different lights and angles affect skin tones and shadow placement.
I just like looking at pretty things AND they have to interest me. Of course, all the other things come close second (though I don't particularly care about uniqueness, why be unique to enjoy something?)...
But if a picture is pretty, and the subject is something I don't really care about then no, not really interested.
I'm also not one to only go for fanart. I like original work a lot.
It seems to me that without some technical ability, the artist is not even worth looking at in the first place. Once the ability is there, of course it is not nearly enough, but it is the first thing I pay attention to when looking at an unknown artist.

The biggest thing that attracts me to an artist is their style. I'm one of the people that would rather look at a picture with a great style but mediocre skill level than a picture with a high level of skill but the style doesn't stick out to me or they're just imitating someone else's style.

Riddle time!
A man is lying face down, dead on a green surface surrounded by 53 bicycles. why was he killed?
I would have to say color and light. Those have been the two main things that have always interested me when it comes to art and creating, and what drew me to computer graphics in the first place - those beautiful glowing luminescent pixels. Some of my favorite artists are Turner, Sargent, and Caravaggio, all masters of color and light.
So why am I asking? Just trying to get an idea of why people are drawn to what they're drawn to. There are so so many works of art out there, so many artists (think of DA alone!) - what qualities does something need to have to truly stand out and be admired and loved?
Devious Comments
How have you been? Haven't seen you much around lately.

Yes, I know what you mean, sometimes technically astounding artwork lacks soul.
