some of my favorite places are like this - quiet, dark, and green. There's also a story in here about a boy who can talk to animals, and a magical fish, but I'm not much of a storyteller I'll just stick to the visuals :)

I knew there was a reason for having you on my watch list What you manage to do with human skin in terms of texture, shading and lighting is definitely why, and this is a perfect example. The look of the water is very well too. But there are a few issues I’d like to address.

The man’s anatomy is, on the most part, wonderful, but from his position I do not think both his feet would line up perfectly and still be balanced. It’s not so much of an issue but it does grow in the mind after a while. Feet can be nightmare, but I’m sure you could sort it out.

A second point is the background beyond the water edge. I find it lacks a bit of dimension, as if I’m looking at a background curtain rather than the real deal. Adding some darker shades for depth and hints of further shapes, and maybe a bit of blue or purple to mist it up would remedy that.

And at last my third point, which is the one I find this images greatest drawback. There is just something about the composition here that is simply not making the best of the elements. By themselves they are all very good, but together as they are they do not add up to more.

By the law of thirds it should work I think, but this is possibly an occasion where the laws are meant to be broken. To be more specific I think the man is possibly too high up. I’d like to push him down and perhaps a little away from the goldfish. There may be other solutions as well if you play around a bit with it
