dark skin tone

I wrote this up awhile back and completely forgot about it! When I was working on this image I wanted to see what others had done, but I had a very difficult time finding painted portraits of people with darker skin tones. Lots of photos, but not a lot of paintings. So I thought I'd share what I figured out while I worked on it - hope it's helpful.
